Enjoy wildlife tours with an accommodation in Tadoba

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is both a national park and tiger reserve located in Chandrapur district of the Indian state, Maharashtra. The name 'Tadoba' is derived from the namesake God revered by tribal people living in the forests of Andhari and Tadoba region. By 1935, hunting was completely banned in this region, and it was declared as a national park in the year 1955. Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary and Tadoba National Park were merged in 1995 to establish the present reserve, which is spread over a vast area of 1,727 square kilometres. The best time to visit Tadoba is during the period between February and May, when the climate is ideal for wildlife tours.

Forest in this region is of southern tropical dry deciduous type, with nearly 87 per cent of the protected area covered with dense woodlands. The predominant tree species is Teak, while one can also find other deciduous trees like Ain, Tendu, and Semal while touring the region. A Tadoba wildlife safari also takes tourists through patches of grass and bamboo thickets. Some plants in this region have great medicinal properties, such as Kach Kujali and Bheria. The leaves of Bheria are used to keep insects away, while Kach Kujali is used to treat Parkinson's disease.

Wildlife tours also give tourists the opportunity to explore diverse fauna of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. Bengal tiger is the main animal species of this region, while other mammals found in the reserve include sloth bears, striped hyenas, Indian leopards, jungle cats, and barking deer. Reptiles found in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve include Indian cobras, Indian star tortoises, and the endangered Indian pythons. United-21 Tiger Camp Resort provides the best accommodation in Tadoba for tourists in the form of luxury tents. These tents are air-conditioned and provided with television, luggage rack and an attached bath facility.
